Welcome to my studio...

Art is an eternal quest. A sensitivity, learning to see without the baggage of learned perception.

Often, I choose the horse as the narrator of my interpretations, as he will continue to be, through the centuries, a link among people of different shores.

I never put harness or riders on him, symbols of man 's desire to control the power of nature - the use of raw materials especially for the base of the piece is an homage to " the Great Mother,"  infinite in her shapes, colors and eternal beauties.

Horses have always been my companions, and I would like to think that we came to a good understanding.

But finally, Bellerophon attempting to bridle Pegasus to steal his magic power will not be successful.

With all our will, we do have to endure our human condition.....

Sculpture

Making a bronze is a rigorous endeavor, the metal is unforgiving. I love to make it tell a story, often with   historical references.

Sculpting Bas-relief to recreate the classic style XIX century trumeaux, allows more freedom of expression.

I use the classic lost wax process which requires two molds.

My bronzes have an edition of twelve. The same sculpture can be done in terra cotta or in a special component for outside pieces.

for Chateau and experience the history and beauty of our family house for 400 years.

The legacy of artists at Parthey began with the Marquis Jules de Valdahon, my grandfather painter, whose large scale paintings are still in view at the Dole gothic basilic, museums of Besancon  and Dole

The sculptors, Clesinger, Francois Pompon, the painters Corot, Redoute, Courbet were welcomed, and contributed to the artistic tradition of the house.
